At the meeting with VNMAC, QTMAC updated its outstanding results in 2024 and introduced the expected plan for 2025. At the same time, QTMAC also made some recommendations to further strengthen and tighten the coordination between central and local coordination units. Specifically, QTMAC recommends conducting a visit to VNMAC's clearance activities and the Korea – Vietnam Peace Village Project (KVPVP) model in Binh Dinh province in the last quarter of 2024 and continuing to actively participate in building the Vietnam IMSMA Core system to pilot implementation in 2025 and promote the development of this system to meet the need for professional, transparent and effective mine action information management; discuss training coordination plans, quality management (QM) and mine action information system management and sharing; opportunities for international cooperation and exchange with a focus on the national coordination unit and practical models in provinces, including Quang Tri; develop a project proposal and evaluate the mine action cooperation model after 2025.
At NPA's office, QTMAC discussed and updated with the Country Director, Financial Manager and Senior Technical Advisor (STA) of VNMAC on the contents QTMAC has worked with the U.S. Embassy, Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) regarding funding proposals for restricted areas, EOD training courses as well as obstacles that QTMAC is facing and propose NPA to support and work closely in the coming time.
