In response to the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistant in Mine Action, on the afternoon of April 3, at Cua Viet beach (Gio Linh District, Quang Tri), the Department of Foreign Affairs, Quang Tri Province Mine Action Center coordinated with NGOs operating in Quang Tri area to organize an event with the theme "Joining hands to fight landmines for a peaceful world", and garbage collection at Cua Viet beach.

The ceremony took place with the participation of nearly 400 people who are typical officers, employees and union members of the following units: Department of Foreign Affairs, Quang Tri Province Mine Action Center, MAG mine action organizations , Peace Tree Viet Nam; representatives of NPA/RENEW and mine victims.

In this event, Project RENEW awarded 42.5 million VND for 5 households who are landmine victims affected by floods and storms in 2020 and 10 wheelchairs for 10 mine victims. A remarkable activity on the sidelines of this event is cleaning and garbage collection at Cua Viet beach area, starting at 3pm on the same day.
