ĐỒNG HÀNH VÌ MỘT QUẢNG TRỊ AN TOÀN: BÀN GIAO QUỸ ĐẤT SẠCH CHO CÁC ĐỊA PHƯƠNG Trong hai ngày 26 - 27/8/2026, Trung tâm Hành động bom mìn tỉnh Quảng Trị (QTMAC) đã chủ trì và phối hợp với các cơ quan, đơn vị liên quan tổ chức bàn giao các hiện trường ô nhiễm bom chùm (CHA) đã hoàn thành rà phá cho chính quyền các xã: Vĩnh Hoàng, Cửa Tùng, Gio Linh, Nam Cửa Việt và Cồn Tiên. Đợt bàn giao lần này đã đánh dấu và đưa vào sử dụng an toàn 22 hiện trường, với tổng diện tích 1.397 ha đã được rà phá sạch bởi các tổ chức Hoạt động bom mìn tại tỉnh Quảng Trị, gồm MAG Quảng Trị, NPA/RENEW và PeaceTrees Vietnam (PTVN) Quảng Trị. Từ tháng 1 đến tháng 8/2026, QTMAC đã chủ trì bàn giao tổng cộng 83 hiện trường, với 4.082 ha đất được rà sạch bom mìn vật nổ cho chính quyền địa phương. Quỹ đất an toàn này sẽ giúp người dân địa phương yên tâm lao động sản xuất, phát triển kinh tế, góp phần ổn định đời sống. Kết quả này có được nhờ sự quan tâm lãnh đạo, chỉ đạo sát sao của Ban Chỉ đạo Khắc phục hậu quả bom mìn (KPHQBM) tỉnh, Bộ Chỉ huy Quân sự tỉnh, Sở Ngoại vụ, cùng sự phối hợp hiệu quả của UBND các xã liên quan. PARTNERSHIP FOR A SAFER QUANG TRI: HANDING OVER CLEARED LAND TO LOCAL AUTHORITIES On 26 - 27 August 2026, the Quang Tri Mine Action Center (QTMAC), led and coordinated with relevant agencies and units to handed over fully cleared cluster munition-contaminated areas (CHAs) to the authorities of Vinh Hoang, Cua Tung, Gio Linh, Nam Cua Viet, and Con Tien communes. This handover marked the safe release of a total of 22 sites, covering 1,397 hectares, following clearance by member organizations of the Quang Tri Mine Action Network, including MAG Vietnam (MAG) in Quang Tri, Norwegian People's Aid Vietnam in Quang Tri, and PeaceTrees VietNam (PTVN) in Quang Tri. From January to August 2026, QTMAC oversaw the handover of a total of 83 sites-comprising 4,082 hectares of land cleared of mines and explosive ordnance to local authorities. This safely released land will allow local residents to farm and work with peace of mind, support economic development, and help stabilize livelihoods in the area. This achievement reflects the close guidance and direction of the Provincial Mine Action Steering Committee, the Provincial Military Command, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, together with the effective coordination of the relevant commune People's Committees. 🏫KIẾN TẠO MÔI TRƯỜNG HỌC TẬP AN TOÀN: BÀN GIAO MẶT BẰNG SẠCH CHO TRƯỜNG MẦM NON GIA NINH Ngày 13/8/2026, Trung tâm Hành động bom mìn tỉnh Quảng Trị (QTMAC) đã chủ trì bàn giao mặt bằng “sạch” bom mìn vật nổ (UXO) cho Trường Mầm non Gia Ninh tại thôn Trường Xuân, xã Ninh Châu, tỉnh Quảng Trị, mở đường cho dự án nâng cấp trường học. Với diện tích khoảng 200m² được rà phá kỹ lưỡng tới độ sâu 1 m, công tác đảm bảo an toàn đã được hoàn tất đúng tiến độ và phát hiện được 3 bom mìn vật nổ. Đây là kết quả của công tác điều phối kịp thời và sự phối hợp chặt chẽ giữa QTMAC, Dự án PTVNQB, Bộ Chỉ huy quân sự tỉnh, Ban Giám hiệu nhà trường và chủ đầu tư dự án. Đây là bước đệm quan trọng để mang đến môi trường giáo dục an toàn cho các em nhỏ tại địa phương. Across an area of approximately 200 square meters - thoroughly cleared to a depth of one meter - safety operations were completed on schedule, resulting in the discovery of three pieces of unexploded ordnance. This achievement was made possible through timely coordination and close collaboration among QTMAC, the PTVNQB Project, the Provincial Military Command, the school administration, and the project developer. It serves as a crucial step toward ensuring a safe educational environment for local children. QTMAC was honored to participate in the Regional Workshop on Strengthening Information Management for Humanitarian Mine Action in ASEAN, held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 10–12 August 2026. Convened by ARMAC and GICHD, the three-day workshop brought together ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat, national mine action authorities, international mine action organizations, technical experts and regional partners to explore how stronger information management can support more effective humanitarian mine action across the region. The workshop was opened by senior representatives, including H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN. QTMAC representatives joined the panel discussion on "Operator and Partner Dialogue – Field Realities, Reporting Workflows and Practical IM Gaps" and also actively engaged in the thematic working groups, contributing practical perspectives on technical, operational, institutional and governance challenges, as well as information sharing and regional cooperation. The workshop moved beyond identifying common challenges to exploring how a future ASEAN Mine Action Information Management Hub (AIM Hub) could add practical value to the region. Through open discussions and working groups, participants shared experiences and jointly shaped priorities and next steps for the Hub. For QTMAC, the workshop was not only an opportunity to share our experience, but also to learn from regional and international partners and contribute to shaping practical approaches for stronger regional information management. Thanks to ARMAC and GICHD for organizing and facilitating this important regional dialogue, and for the chance to help shape the AIM Hub from the ground up.
