EORE activities for women create access information and knowledge, which will help prevent themselves from to EO risks and also promote women to become EORE advocates in the family and community.
Integrating with activities to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, the PeaceTrees Vietnam Quang Tri (PTNVQT) coordinated with the Women's Union of Cam Lo town to organize an EORE event with the participation of more than 100 members in the town.

“I have never participated in such an EORE event like this. Where I live, there are still bombs and bullets. I hope that knowing about mines and UXOs will help me know how to avoid EORE accidents" - That is what Ms. Nguyen Thi Mong shared with the team before participating in the event. Ms. Mong and other members of Cam Lo Town Women Union in their colorful ao dai were very excited in the atmosphere to welcome the Women’s International Day. And even more special, for the very first time, they were able to participate in an EORE activity. Integrating communication activities into local action plans has helped take advantage of available resources and improve the effectiveness of propaganda work.

During the presentation of EO knowledge by PTVN technical staff, many questions were asked to encourage participation

In addition, many stories of mine accidents were shared. Most of them were sad memories that they could never forget. "Many cases of bombs leading to explosions, causing deaths and injuries, haunt me until now" - Ms. Vo Thi Thanh shared in a trembling voice. Not only are there sad stories, Ms. Le Hong Khuyen also told a funny story about how she once picked up a yellow bomb 79 and brought it to the market to sell because she didn't know it was a landmine. It's a funny story but that's it. It is also a lesson about recognizing land mines and explosives, avoiding danger to yourself and those around you.
The game "Who is faster" with questions related to knowledge and skills in preventing EO accidents generated an exciting and fun atmosphere for the event. All the teams were very enthusiastic in winning the right to answer. "I feel this activity is very meaningful.

fter returning home, I will share what I have learned today with my family and everyone around me" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Mong confided before leaving.
“After the EORE session, women have more basic knowledge about EO risk and how to prevent mines and explosives accidents. They are more aware of the risk and they will actively share the knowledge so that everyone in the community knows how to avoid the risk, minimize the harmful effects of bombs, mines, and explosives in the surounding areas, creating a safe and stable environment for economic development. Hopefully in the future there will be more programs like this for women members" - Shared by Ms. Phan Thi Tao, President of the Women's Union of Cam Lo town.

Increasing access to knowledge for women is the foundation for enhancing their role in the socio-economic development and in EO communication. Through which, the role of women will be increasingly affirmed.
