Attending the workshop were representatives of Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC), representatives of the US Embassy, representatives of mine action organizations including Project RENEW/NPA, Mine Advisory Group (MAG), Vietnam Peace Tree (PTVN), Golden West, Mobile Explosive Disposal Team of Provincial Military Command, Provincial Military Observer, Coordinator of PTVN, MAG, RENEW/NPA .
The workshop shared and discussed the results of survey, clearance, mobile handling and quality management activities in 2022, developing a 2023 plan, and address obstacles in the implementation of activities. The performance results of the organizations in 2022 reached 100% progress, with some tasks exceeding the set targets.
The workshop also discussed and commented on the development of a set of safe provincial criteria and a roadmap for completion in 2023; some contents on the National Technical Regulation on demining mines and explosives (QCVN 01:2022/BQP), and the coordination mechanism to deal with bombs by burning method.
Representatives of VNMAC and the US Embassy continue to highly appreciate the model and coordination role of QTMAC over the past years, the quality of coordination between QTMAC and mine action partners, and commit to support to assist Quang Tri province in realizing its safety target by 2025.
