Following the guidance of the Handbook on integrating mine action into local socio-economic development, the Land Fund Development Center of Quang Tri province sent a written request to the Quang Tri Mine Action Center (QTMAC) to support clearance of public investment projects in Dong Ha city. After reviewing the criteria, survey and field assessment at the site, QTMAC coordinated with MAG organization to assist in the clearance of socio-economic development support works: Tran Binh Trong Street, the section from the saline prevention dam to National Highway 9 , Tran Binh Trong street infrastructure with a total area of 23,189 m2. As a result, 49 explosives were found (including 47 BLU 26 and 02 detonators) and safely detonated on site.

In the near future, the beautiful Tran Binh Trong road will be marked on the map, and local people will be the beneficiaries of humanitarian demining activities for the above project.
The Quang Tri Provincial Mine Action Center was established in December 2018, with the role of coordinating mine action in the province in order to minimize overlapping activities, speed up the process of demining for local socio-economic development.
