On December 13, 2022, while farming, Mr. Ho Van Thanh in Van Ri village, Huc commune, Huong Hoa district discovered a large bomb. Right after that, he informed the Quang Tri Provincial Mine Action Center (QTMAC).
Receiving news from QTMAC, Team PeaceTrees VietNam’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team 1 (EOD1) urgently moved to the site to deploy an EOD spot task. The bomb located at a depth of 15 centimeters, identified as MK81 bomb, has a diameter of 230 mm, a length of 1.88 m, and a weight of 250 lbs. After evaluated as “safe for transportation”, the bombs were brought to a safe location, and loaded onto a truck to transport to storage for demolition later.
